Lord's Day Devotion - Prayer - Jehovah Tsidkenu

 

Lord Jesus as we gather together this Lord's Day we want to thank you from the deep inner recesses of our hearts for your selfless sacrifice on our behalf.   You took all our sins upon yourself without a word - like a sheep being shorn.  You uttered not a word in your own defense.  You stayed quiet.

You bore all the pain, shame and injustice for me and the "whosoever" (see John 3:16).

How you must have loved us!

Thank you for being perfectly obedient to your Heavenly Father's will.

You are our Jehovah-Tsidkenu - 

"our Lord, our righteous Savior" (Jeremiah 23:16).

Our sins, sorrows, and punishment became yours, all our sins were laid upon you, you felt the whole heat and full brunt of our sins' punishment.  It is with heartfelt thanks we take the broken bread and drink of the cup of wine, symbols of your redeeming love and work on our behalf, in remembrance of your sacrifice.

Thank you Jesus Savior.  There's no one else like you.
