Morning Musings-Freeeeeeedommmm!

Morning Musings with the boys at breakfast....

Isn't it great that as followers of Jesus Christ we don't have to get up every single morning and remind ourselves to "keep the 10 Commandments or else!"  We are not under law!   However, we abide by the Holy Spirit indwelling us.  So as Christians, living to please God can come
"naturally" when we allow the Holy Spirit to sit on the throne of our hearts to be led by Him instead of by our own will and human desires. When we open up our hearts and willingly follow His ways out of love for God and gratitude towards Him and Jesus for what they have done for us.

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were
still sinners, Christ died for us."  (Romans 5:8-9)

Look in the Bible at the letter to the Galatians in chapter 5 and verses 16-18 and verse 26.  And then go back to verse 1.  We can have so much freedom in Christ. Paul wrote to the Galatians because false teachers were messing with them, telling them that besides accepting Jesus Christ as Savior they have to do something else; add-ons for good measure, so to speak.  Those false teachers were telling them they have to go back to the Law.  Yes, accept Jesus as Savior, but... but...you need to do this and that and the other things to cinch it.  NO WAY!  That way is to go back into bondage and slavery.  Now, said Paul, is the day of grace and the time to live by the Spirit of God, Who is with and in each believer and follower of Jesus Christ leading and guiding us into God's will and way for us.

  1. THE WAGES OF SIN BY STEVE FINNELL

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.(NASB)

The wages of sin is death. The wages for whose sin? Many believe men receive spiritual death because of Adam's sin when they are still in the womb or at birth. The truth is men become spiritually dead because of their own sins.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and death spread to all men, because all sinned---(NASB)

    Death spread because all sinned.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,(NASB)

All fall short of God's glory because they have all sinned, not because Adam sinned.

Psalm 51:1-2 O God...2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin.(NASB)

David did not ask God to cleanse him of the guilt from Adam's sin.

Matthew 1:21 She will bear a Son: and you shall call His name Jesus , for He will save His people from their sins."(NASB)

Jesus will save people from "their sins." Jesus will not save people from Adam's sin, because no one is guilty of Adam's sin, but Adam.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(NASB)

Peter said, "The forgiveness of your sins," Peter did not say for the forgiveness of Adam's sin.

Acts 22:16 Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name!(NASB)

Ananias did not tell Saul to wash away Adam's sin. Ananias said wash away "your" sins.

Colossians 2:12-13...having forgiven us all our transgression,(ASB)

God forgave us all of "our" transgressions. God did not forgive us of Adam's transgression.

There is not one Scriptures that states men have to be forgiven of Adam's sin, the sins of relatives, sins of friends nor sins of anyone else.

  2. Thank-you Steve for all the verses and comments. It is very true we need to be forgiven for our own sins. To make Jesus the Savior of our souls. After that comes the sanctification process of becoming more like Christ to submit our desires and will to Him and His will and ways. So glad He gave us His Word and His Holy Spirit to help us otherwise we would do so well. Thanks again for you input.
